Music Therapist – Assisi Hospice

Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality and professional music therapy services in inpatient and day care settings, including group and individual sessions
  • Execute therapy process with patients, including referral, assessment, goal setting, evaluation, termination/discharge
  • Provide clear documentation of patient goals, progress, and summaries
  • Set relevant goals and objectives with patients and their family members
  • Demonstrate knowledge and use of various music therapy methods and techniques
  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings and family meetings as required
  • Initiate new treatment programmes and initiatives to improve patient care
  • Serve as a clinical resource and provide educational opportunities to interdisciplinary team as appropriate

Requirements:

  • Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy (or equivalent)
  • Registered with the Association for Music Therapy Singapore
  • Prior relevant experience is an advantage
  • Bilingual and preferably able to communicate in local dialects
  • Passion to serve
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of and proficiency with wide range of music genre

2. Locum Music Therapist – Club Rainbow (Singapore)

Club Rainbow (Singapore) provides a range of comprehensive support services for children and youths with chronic and life-threatening illnesses, including special needs and disabilities, as well as their families. We are seeking passionate, professional, and credentialed Music Therapist to support our clients through:
(1) Short-Term Programme Series: Designing and facilitating targeted, thematic group music therapy series (comprising 5 sessions or fewer) to be conducted dynamically during school holiday periods (e.g., June holidays) or on Saturdays.
(2) Weekly Intervention: Planning and executing consistent, ongoing weekly individual or small- group music therapy intervention sessions to support long-term developmental, emotional, and social goals for our clients.

Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor / Master of Arts in Music Therapy from recognised institutions
Must be a Registered/Credentialed Music Therapist with a recognized professional body
Member with the Association for Music Therapy (Singapore) (AMTS).

Experience:
Prior experience working with children, youth, or individuals with chronic medical conditions, special needs, physical disabilities, or developmental delays is highly preferred.
Proven track record in designing and managing short-term group curricula/workshops (such as holiday camps or weekend program blocks).

Schedule & Commitment

Flexible/Sessional basis based on program requirements.
Either (1) Availability to conduct sessions during school holiday periods (specifically the
upcoming June holiday block) and/or on Saturdays and/or (2) Consistent weekday/weekend slots to be mutually agreed upon for the weekly intervention track.

Responsibilities and Duties
Assessment & Planning: Identify individual needs and develop tailored intervention plans for each client.

Intervention Delivery: Provide high-quality series-based programmes & therapy intervention in accordance with organizational and clinical service standards.

Collaborative Care: Work with a multi-professional team on goal development, intervention strategies, and progress monitoring.

Support & Education: Offer guidance, information, and emotional support to both clients and their caregivers.

Documentation: Regularly evaluate and document client progress to ensure continuity of care.

Service Improvement: Assist supervisors with clinical and quality improvement initiatives as needed

St Luke's Hospital is looking for a music therapist to join the music therapy team in the Rehabilitation Department. You will be joining a music therapy team consisting of therapists with vast experiences in the healthcare field.
Job Requirements: 
  • At least a Bachelor's Degree in Music Therapy from an accredited institution, with credentials from country of training
  • Neurologic Music Therapy preferred, although SLH can send applicant for training upon confirmation
  • Prior experience in healthcare settings preferred
  • Be a member of the Association for Music Therapy Singapore (AMTS)

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor / Master of Arts in Music Therapy from recognised institutions
  • Registration with relevant Professional Body or Music Therapy Association

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Determining therapy objectives with the client at the outset of the relationship;
  • Planning, reviewing and assessing therapy sessions to monitor effectiveness and to aid the planning of subsequent sessions;
  • Taking an active role in sessions by playing, singing and listening;
  • Encouraging clients to take part in the session, and supporting them by responding musically;
  • Encouraging clients to use a range of accessible musical instruments (such as percussion) and their own voice to express themselves;
  • Helping clients explore the world of sound and to create a musical language of their own;
  • Improvising with music as a reaction to what the client is communicating in order to enhance the individual nature of the relationship;
  • Recording therapy sessions, with the consent of the client(s);
  • Supporting the client’s creative development and facilitating positive changes in their behaviour and well-being;
  • Helping the client develop an increased self-awareness;
  • Assessing the musical and non-musical behaviours of the clients;
  • Writing up case notes and reports. Music therapists working in a clinical setting may spend a lot of time liaising with professional colleagues engaged in the care and development of their clients.
